Mr. Dominic Grant –
Mars Rocket: This is a large 580 piece kit. The main rocket mission module was difficult to put together due to building upwards 4 high without interconnecting support and some overly tight fits on some of the bricks, The rest of the rocket was okay The side rockets and satellites went together without any problems (though the rocket nozzles don’t have a tight fit and tend to fall off). The size, and some connection issues don’t make this a great model to play with.
There are 2 astronaut minifigures (1 unassembled that was a pain to assemble).
The kit advertises 13 LEDs, but it’s really 6 bricks and a helmet backpack. 3 bricks are 4x4x2 cylinders with 2 LEDs (2 are in clear orange bricks with flickering lights; 1 clear). A 4x4x3 motion activated clear orange brick doesn’t work all that well and has 4 LEDs. It takes somewhat vigorous motion to reliably activate which isn’t advisable for a model of this size. The on switch is hard to put in a position to keep the lights on. The remaining lights are in 2×4 bricks; 1 clear; 1 clear orange projector.
There are many clear bricks:
20 2×1 orange bricks
49 2×2 orange bricks
6 1×4 orange tiles and 5 others
11 4×4 clear ring bricks
22 1×4 clear tiles
26 1×2 clear bricks
15 other clear assorted bricks
19 2×2 clear blue cylinders
4 2×2 clear blue nozzles
6 2×6
2×6 clear green polygon tiles
12 2×2 clear smokey nozzles
One brick was missing and the company replaced it efficiently
Miss Nina Kohler –
Pieces don’t lock together well so the thing is always falling apart as you try to build it. Missing several pieces with several extras of unneeded pieces.
